Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale
Think I just saw my favourite Christmas movie. If you missed out on this Finnish movie, don’t wait watch it now.
On Christmas Eve in Finland, Santa Claus is unearthed in an archaeological dig. Soon after, children start disappearing, leading a boy and his father to capture Santa and, with the help of fellow hunters, they look to sell him back to the corporation that sponsored the dig. And then there’s Santa’s elves, who are determined to free their leader…

University Of Chicago Receives Package For Indiana Jones
Reblogged from COED - College Life, Hot Girls, Memes, Funny Pics and Videos, Sexy Cheerleaders:
Earlier this week, the University of Chicago admissions office received a package addressed to one Henry Walton Jones Jr. The package wound up in a pile to be sorted through later. No big deal; happens all the time with misaddressed mail. But apparently, no one in the admissions office recognized the name of one of the school’s most legendary, albeit fictional, former students.
I want a Hobbit mound
Was on my way to a job interview in central London yesterday and walked past the preparations for the royal premiere of The Hobbit at Leicester Square. They were building a hobbit mound. Was almost close to ignore the interview just so that I could be there when the actors arrived. Damn you work!
Ps got the job.

Top 10 Worst Blockbusters In Recent History
Such a great top 10 worst list, so many of the movies are actually embarrassingly enough favourites of mine but I do know how awful they are. Wild wild west (awesome but awful), Armageddon (I know, I know…), Independence Day (yikes… but love it)
This isn’t necessarily a list of the worst movies of all time, although a lot of them would probably make that list, also. This list has more to do with being crappy, escapist garbage that appeals to the lowest-common denominator. That isn’t to say that you should feel bad if some of these movies are personal favorites of yours– Actually, yes, you should feel bad if some of these movies are personal favorites of yours.
RIP Hammer horror actress Ingrid Pitt dies aged 73
Hammer horror actress Ingrid Pitt, best known for starring in cult classics such as Countess Dracula, has died at the age of 73. The Polish-born star passed away at a hospital in South London.
She was regarded by many fans as the queen of Hammer Horror films.
The star’s death comes weeks after film-maker Roy Ward Baker, who directed Pitt in The Vampire Lovers, died at the age of 93.
Pitt’s daughter Stephanie Blake told the BBC News website that her mother’s death had come as a “huge surprise”.
After the actress collapsed recently, doctors had told her was she suffering from heart failure.
“She could be incredibly generous, loving, and she’ll be sorely missed,” Mrs Blake said.
She added that she wanted her mother to be remembered as the Countess Dracula with the “wonderful teeth and the wonderful bosom”.

Film star Tony Curtis dies at 85
Oh man, loved this man and his movies. Will celebrate his life with a look at Some like it hot tonite.
Oscar-nominated actor Tony Curtis has died at his US home at the age of 85, according to ABC News.
The Hollywood star, who starred in Some Like it Hot opposite Marilyn Monroe, passed away peacefully in bed, a family spokesman said.
The star received an Oscar nod in 1959 for The Defiant Ones, in which he starred with Sidney Poitier.
His great number of film roles often revealed the sunny side of his personality, and Tony Curtis regarded his stardom as a way to “get great tables at restaurants, beautiful cars to drive and the love of lots of people”
I love Audrey Tatou – will you please marry me
Audrey Justine Tautou is a French film actress, known to worldwide audiences for playing the title character in the award-winning 2001 film Amélie, Sophie Neveu in the 2006 thriller The Da Vinci Code, Irène in Priceless (2006) and Coco Chanel in Coco Avant Chanel.
She is my favourite french girl tout-alors.
When I first saw Amelie I truly did fall in love with this girl, she got that lovely face of mischief in her which is just so adorable. So garcons et les filles, I demand that you love her as well
After each experience, you grow up, you get enriched with something, and you don’t know how you’re going to be in six months, you don’t know what you’re going to want, what you’re going to need.
Ahh, smoking one, makes me love her even more if possible…

I’m not sure I’m quite ready to have someone be a prospector of jobs for me, because I believe there’s some kind of destiny involved with meeting people… some things are just meant to happen.
She appeared in the video of “I Love Your Smile”, a song by British singer-songwriter Charlie Winston.
My movie weekend is sorted
Oh boy, I so got my work cut out for me this weekend, got delivered home today a lovely set of DVDs to enjoy and I truly mean enjoy, some of the best and worst movies in a nice mix, my flatmate didn’t look to pleased but I will make her enjoy the awesomeness of these movies. Damn, I need to find myself a geeky girlfriend soon to enjoy these things with. Any takers?
This one needs no introduction at all I think. Just such an inspiring movie. The biggest-budgeted movie ever produced at Germany’s UFA, Fritz Lang’s gargantuan Metropolis consumed resources that would have yielded upwards of 20 conventional features, more than half the studio’s entire annual production budget. And if it didn’t make a profit at the time — indeed, it nearly bankrupted the studio — the film added an indelible array of images and ideas to cinema, and has endured across the many decades since its release.
And Zsa Zsa Gabor in skimpy outfit Jack, jack, jack…. I just love this movie.
doesn’t sounds so bad in This novel based movie was made for him.
Queen Of Outer space
Surprise me, not sure about this one. The storyline is weak but it’s Cab!
Also remember that I did like this one as a kid but can’t remember that the Son of Kong looked so much like a doofus…
Remembered that I thought Donovan’s
Brain was excellent when I first saw it as a
15 year old, here’s hoping I wasn’t a lousy This purchase is just because of
movie fan back then…
John Carradine, big fan….
Ok, this is probably my weakest purchase but couldn’t help it when I read the story ‘Olaf and his mother run a boarding house, and a white slavery ring. They also smuggle heroin to keep the addict girls happy, so they do not try and escape. A young couple move into the house, and the evil landlords take a liking to the female. Don’t mess with THIS Dwarf…!’ Am so a sucker f0r proper bad bad bad movies.
Laughed out loud when I found this review:
‘this film is weird, terrible acting, terrible music but lots of happy teddybears. worth watching as it is so odd it’s kinda entertaining.’
Lots of happy teddybears????? anyway,
MY WEEKEND WILL BE GREAT!
Jonah Hex trailer

Suck – rock’n'roll vampire movie
Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop in a tale that mixes Rock n’Roll and vampires can only be great.
A rock’n’roll vampire spoof about a down and out band, The Winners, who will do anything for a record deal. When their disgruntled manager (Dave Foley) tells them that they are getting “long in the tooth”, he doesn’t know that his words are truly prophetic. During a road trip, their humdrum image radically changes when Jennifer (Jessica Paré), the bass player, disappears one night with a hip vampire (Dimitri Coats). She emerges with a sexually charged charisma that drives the audiences wild.
As the band members succumb, one by one, to blood lust, their “gimmick” launches them into the limelight. Following an “incident” on a national radio show with “Rock’n Roger” (Henry Rollins), they hit mega-stardom beyond their wildest dreams. Joey (Rob Stefaniuk), the lead singer, is haunted by an eerie bartender (Alice Cooper), who turns out to be much more. Meanwhile, legendary vampire hunter, Eddie Van Helsig (Malcolm McDowell), is tracking them down, despite his fear of the dark. When a veteran music producer (Iggy Pop) calls them on becoming a vampire freak show, they begin to realize that fame is not what it’s cracked up to be.
Bitchslap
WOW – Bitch Slap Has Hercules And Xena Reunions
This new explotation film has Michael Hurst (Hercules, The Legendary Journeys) , Lucy Lawless and Rene O’Connor (Xena Warrior Princess) in cameos.
Finally, had such a crush on Gabrielle (Rene O’Connor) from Xena so will see the movie just for her.
"Bitch Slap" is a post-modern, thinking man’s throwback to the "B" Movie/Exploitation films of the 1950′s – 70′s as well as a loving, sly parody of the same. Inspired by the likes of Dragstrip Girl;, Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill; Kung Fu Nun and the pantheon of Blaxploitation films, "Bitch Slap" will mix girls, guns, outrageous action and jaw-dropping visuals with a message… don’t be naughty!

Alice in Wonderland – An x-rated musical comedy
A lovely librarian, played by Playboy model Kristine DeBell, falls asleep and dreams herself into a strange world filled with extremely uninhibited people… These people love to sing and dance and fool around… Alice has a series of sensual adventures among these characters…
The film was originally shot as a poem to eroticism with few explicit sex scenes, which were eventually cut from its theatrical release…
Videocassette versions, however, have had some of the original erotic encounters joined at the end with them…
For an extremely low-budget picture, the producers of this film did an extremely good job… The cinematography is full of life and energy, the dances and numbers quite professional, and the acting lovable… Without a doubt, it is one of the best adult fairy tales around…

Riese – The new steampunk webseries
The new webserie to watch out for, the first episode has now been premiered and it looks good. Steampunk based fantasy with some really good actors, the heroine has been in Sanctuary and a lot of Stargate actors are starring as well.
Check it out on their website.
Synopsis:
Riese is a world of moral ambiguity and political intrigue. A decimated land populated by characters from dreams and nightmares. Loyalties are ever in question, suspicion in the minds of all. The realm, however, was not always so cruel. Everything began with a peaceful nation called Eleysia.
The Kingdom of the Wolf, Eleysia was once prosperous due largely to the influence of Empress Kara and Emperor Ulric. This all changed when a coup d’etat, orchestrated from the shadows by a religious cult, brought about a total regime change. Taking the throne was Amara, the Empress’s cousin. A power-hungry tyrant, Amara immediately utilized Eleysia’s wealth and power to begin colonizing the world, crushing nation after nation in order to unite the people under one banner. Even as she assaulted the world, an ominous, enigmatic group clearly wielded power over her. Called The Sect, they purported themselves to be the official religion of Eleysia, and began to spread alongside Eleysia’s borders.

Not a big fan of True blood but I do enjoy their advertisements. Just brilliant.
